Easier way is to get the BlockingDeadTextureszip rename it to BlockingDeadTextures.zip, place it in the resourepacks folder and just make sure it is above PureBDcraft on the resourcepacks screen within Minecraft.
Job done. No messing around with the internal structure of the packs required.
Not that I tested it, but looking at the video I'm not sure why this wouldn't work.

Huh, didn't think of that lol. But then again, there are multiple ways of doing everything

Plus you know what Minecraft is like, this is a nice way if your method doesn't work for some people.
