Hi, I have ran 512x512 before, but I have recently completely wiped my .minecraft folder in appdata. I just started the launcher to generate a new .minecraft folder and launched minecraft. I re downloaded the 512 resource pack and every time I add it to the game and click done it pauses for awhile then finishes, but it is still the regular minecraft textures or the game crashes all together and gives me "not enough ram error"... I have added a JVM argument to minecraft "-Xmx10G" and yet when I launch minecraft it hovers around 460mb for some reason. Below I have some screen shots and pastebin of my logs. Thanks to anyone that can help in advanced. :D

I'm almost 100% sure it is the ram not being properly allocated. Once again, thanks!

Well firstly a quick search found this post: https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/su ... g-more-ram

Beyond that, do you actually have 10GB to give to Minecraft? Not that it should matter, it should still crash with the same error if you don't.

Try reinstalling Java or try with another launcher such as MultiMC (you never know).

You can also try installing Java 8.

That MC onlay says 450MB-RAM is all right :) No error here :)
The Xmx-Command only define the max RAM the VM are allowed to use, not the min of RAm it has to use. For that, you have to use the Xms-Command.
But... to be honest:
I don't think that it is necessary to use the Xms-Command. Because the VM grabs that much RAM it will need (up to the max. of course). And with a max. of 10GB... well, that should be enough.

Also, if youbare using MCPatcher or Optifine, try deleting the mcpatcher/ctm/clay folder inside the PureBDcraft ZIP file.

Thanks for your reply, but when loading the texture pack it would crash and run out of ram like I said so it wasn't getting the right amount.

Thanks!!! This problem all started after I installed forge on original .minecraft with optifine and shaders and it screwing up so I deleted it... Then it was still broken after the .minecraft wipe. So I did what the article said to do in HanFox's post. Now I can try what you said to do when I re install optifine.
