Some enchanted items have "squares" around them

This has happened for as long as I remember. I enchanted my TE backpack and it happens with that, enough to annoy me since i'm always seeing it.

Is there anyway to fix this and/or just remove the entire enchantment texture from the bag and/or the other items?

I take it you're using Optifine?

There's a setting in the options called something like "Fast Renderer". Turn that Off.

I am not using it or anything like it (using customized RR3 modpack), though this has happened as far as I can remember (on multiple computers) dating all the way back to 1.4.7. I am using SSAA via NVIDIA drivers though, but if that's causing it then the benefits of that outweigh having to deal with this. Set defaults, still does it.

EDIT: I have tried only Sphax vanilla textures and it still does it on the modded items. Hmm. Any ideas? Here's full list of mods i'm running.

It's apparently generally stated to be a vanilla Minecraft bug and is in fact on the Mojang tracker.

If updating your graphics drivers doesn't work I'm not sure there is much you can do unless Mojang themself find a fix.
