MCPatcher + BDCraft = unstable FPS (vs non-patched)

Hi,
returning to play some MC, using BDcraft, props to Sphax as always!
In short - having really unstable FPS with latest MCpatcher for 1.6.2 (default options) and 256x BDcraft.
Unpatched MC and BDcraft 256x gives a stable 60 FPS.
Any ideas?

Well MCPatcher opens up more features such as BetterSky, BetterGlass, Connected Textures and RandomMobs to name a few so of course it may suffer in that way.
MCPatcher has never claimed to offer a stable experience so I doubt there's much that can be done.
You can try Optifine, but it has a few less features, but it does generally keep a relatively stable FPS.

A lot has changed in both MC, MCPatcher and the texturepack in 2 months.
You can try deleting the /assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/ctm/clay folder. It has a lot of textures in that could be hampering your experience.

Thnaks, will do. I'll try OptiFine too. I like MCP because it supported snapshots.
I hope some optimizations happen with BDcraft and/or MCpatcher, I was really content with that combination, 256x was running soooo smooth
