Why is Sphax crashing my Minecraft

Sphax is crashing my Minecraft!!!!! It gets to the Mojang screen and then just crashes.It says it has run out of memory and I don't know how to fix that. I am on a mac. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

You either need to assign more RAM to Minecraft or use lower resolution textures.
