I just discovered this texture pack, and I really like the style - especially the pentagon theme Winking. However, there are a ton of nitpicks keeping it from a solid thumbs-up for me. I don't claim that it's reasonable for all of these things to be addressed; I'm just saying what would make the pack ideal in my mind:

  • The following textures are very different than vanilla, making it hard to get used to the pack: stone (mistakable for cobble), gravel (mistakable for cobble), bread (mistakable for potato), bedrock (mistakable for obsidian), flint (looks more like real flint, true, but near-unrecognizable as Minecraft flint), villager.
  • The following textures have the above problem in addition to looking bad in their own right IMO: wooden planks (2 planks per block? Really?), chiseled stone brick (what happened to the circle look?), iron bars (they look like bamboo), trapped chests (there should be some way to tell from the front, even if it's subtle), iron and chain armor (they literally look like junk), gunpowder (looks mushy), wheat seeds (is that a meteor shower?), blaze rod (looks like a bread stick), redstone dust (if you're making it gems instead of dust, have the inventory sprite show multiple gems).
  • Ironically, the TNT looks less cartoony than vanilla.
  • I like the netherrack, but why would you animate netherrack and not soul sand?
  • The flowing lava animation is simultaneously too fast and too jerky - needz moar frames!
  • Not sure if this is intended or not, but the alternate clock texture rotates in the opposite direction.
  • The placement and colour of text in inventory-style GUI screens (inventory, chest, furnace, etc.) makes it hard to read.

I agree with this point, perhaps the GUI header text could be made darker because the current colour doesn't stand out too well against the wood theme. (Other artists take heed as well)

I've always thought that chiseled stonebrick should have "sphaxogonal" circles in the middle! The current block is too similar to regular stonebrick.

And double yay to fern idea, right now it is indistinguishable from grass clump.

Those two blocks, and rsd lamps have always seemed out of place to me, especially the lamps.

[quote=DanniL113]I've been fiddling around with the chiseled stone and fern textures to make them look more like vanilla ones and this is what i've come up with

Hey sphax i noticed how you want everything to look as if it was hand made so maybe make the bed out of all the wool coloured rags instead of perfectly neat blue

I don't know it anyone else has this problem, but the texture pack doesn't have textures for the redstone block and glowstone.

Netherrack- amazing, love the animated texture.

Alternate clock texture- I like it better than the first clock.

Good work!

The textures exist but Mojang has made the animation file .txt a requirement... So I'll update the texturepack to add those files. Winking

hey, I know it has something to do with MC Patcher, but my textures are missing for Glowstone and the redstone blocks...

Also, the textures for the compass and the clock is missing for me... could you help me at all?

I don't think it's MC Patcher, I use optifine and have the problem.

it seems to be recent animated textures - also, just found out, when i smelt/cook in the furnace the front of it goes missing and can't find the texture there either.
