Ok so I'm having a problem with the redpower texture patch for the texture pack. When ever I put it into my multiMC instance the texture pack takes too long to load and it crashes my multiMC. Now I also downloaded the EE and IC2 patch as well, and it worked well, then I added buildcraft patch and the forestree patch thinking that the cap is at three before it crashes but they both loaded up fine. I think the redpower is a bit buggy and it needs to be fixed.

I think that I may have encountered a similar problem in regards to having too many texture packs. But this was down to a memory issue.
In the end I opted to go from 256x256 down to 64x64, there's no real noticeable difference visually other than performance. I can run a heck of a lot more texture packs! (for obvious reasons).
So my two suggestions / questions are:
1) What resolution of texture are you running
2) Try dropping back a notch or two and see if that works
I have to admit though that MC does take at least 2 - 3 mins to load initially. In game there's no problems.

1. I'm using the 128x128
2. I'll try that
