You can try and resize them in something like GIMP using bicubic setting, but they probably will look awful. No harm in trying.

As for redistributing them no one will have any issues with that. I'd be more offended if people changed my textures and didn't let me see them Tongue

Why 16x its sooo pixely
anyway you can scale them down but alot of the addons look fugly when scaled down that far thats why we do 128x and 64x only and occasionly 32x
But you are aloud to scale down the textures but just dont distibute them unless you are doing so on the correct thread and with permission from the owner of the textures

You can use pretty much any photo editor to downscale textures. Don't use paint though. lol.

Try Paint.NET. Its free.
Here is what you do in Paint.NET
Load up your texture sheet, and go to Image>Resize
Then make sure you set the width and the height to 256.
Also make sure that the resample option is on Best Quality or Bicubic. They are both the same.

You should at least try 32x ... There shouldn't be too big of a difference performance-wise from 16x to 32x.

With 16x you're going to lose too much detail.

Moderates like a sweet prince.

This is a forum, not a texture pack database, so there won't be any sort functions unless someone makes a site dedicated to JUST the texture packs.
