I think this series has a lot of potential. I've been trying to get into BDCraft texturing for mods and stuff recently, but haven't gotten much further than a simple diamond and that red ball Sphax posted on his tutorial thread. This looks like it'll help a lot.

Wow that looks a lot easier than what I've been doing in gimp. Granted most of what I've been doing has been rearranging your texture pack and all I got to work with there is the end result png file so the paths no longer exist anyways. The snap to grid feature was nice though, would've taken me forever to do otherwise. Unfortunately I didn't find that tool until I was half through the 128x pack the first time Very Happy. Would be nice if I could just click and drag the textures from grid point to grid point, but being able to easily select a grid area without doing pixel math is still pretty nice. And to all you photoshop addicts, I refuse to buy it Tongue, I also refuse to take the 30 day trial to make an addict out of myself, and then have to go back to gimp and be even more miserable than before Very Happy. I suppose I should go and hunt down a good Gimp tutorial on the interwebs so I don't miss out on any other features I didn't know existed. I'll probably need them for when I tackle the armor and tools that are still missing out of the Mekanism pack (also probably going to update the metal blocks, they needs the rivets! needs them I say!). Not that I can use them anyway, my silly server admin went crazy with the mods and now the IC2 bronze armor (which sucks) is over-riding the Mekanism bronze armor (which is epic). Granted right now running around in IC2 armor looks a lot better because it has a sphax texture. As is, running around in Mekanism armor make me look like I running around in a giant orange fruit suit.

And yes, I already know I am the king of run-on sentences, but until I realized this entire paragraph was one big run-on sentence there were no periods whatsoever Very Happy (lots and lots of commas though).

I'd actually like to learn too, so i could contribute to the comunity, it'd be pretty nifty if there was more tutorials.
Pains me to be unable to texture my own stuff, i dislike the vanilla textures.
