Basically this:

I saw another thread about the same issue. The author there fixed it by switching the mipmapping on. In my case NOTHING helps. I tried: texture packs with different resolution; other texture packs; changing all available options; changing the memory size for java - nothing works. They just keep glitching and disappearing. If I change any video option that redraws the textures - they work fine for like 10 sec and then they start again! The solo case when everything is fine is with 16x16 textures!

PLEASE HELP!.

So it's the optifine eh? I knew it wasn't because my graphics is NVidia ). Well I will try it tonight and let's hope removing optifine will fix it ). Ty dude!

In my case it tended to start when ever I changed texture packs (I know, I know why would I want to use anything other than these awesome ones!). But the only fix that has worked so far for me was the following:

Remove optifine
Restart Minecraft
Switch to the vanilla minecraft texture pack
Start a world or reload saved game
Save game and quit
Restore Standard optifine
Restart minecraft
Choose PureDBcraft x64
Load save game

So far touch wood I've not seen any texture anomalies when I used to be plagued by them. Inducing the all time classic of a creeper that was just it's legs..... Almost lost my house to that one!

I should add that I use MultiMC as I'm just too lazy to manually work a .Jar.

Well it didn't work Happy. I made a zip-archive of Minecraft+OP+shaders and the one only with shaders and MC patcher so I could easily switch between the original MC and the OptiFine one in the MagicLauncher. In the end I had to exit the game and switch the files every like 2 minutes before the glitches started Happy. But with all the effects that I am using (Sharugan's shaders, waving shader MC patch, the AWSOME texture pack) it looks fine anyway Happy. Let us all hope the guy who made OptiFine will fix this bug before long Happy.

Hmm... mb I should try starting a NAKED MC insted of the MC with shaders and MC patcher...

Hi!

I also had this bug, but it stopped as soon as I switched from the MT (multi Thread) build of Optifine to the single core version, i.e. smooth version. Seems there's an issue with multi-threading

Hope I could help,

Calius

Actually... I contacted the creator of OptiFine and he told me to switch multi-threaded optimization to OFF in the graphics card driver menu which completely fixed the problem Happy. And he also said that this advice is written with big red letters in the main forum thread below the respective OptiFine version Happy.

Yeah, I read that, but unfortunately disabling multithreading in the nvidia driver is no option for a linux machine. Until that's fixed, I'll have to go with the smooth editon.
