and also ive been making the mayan tools and wanted to ask how you make the shadow bit like this
IMAGE(https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4552428...)
i cant seem to get the three different shades i can only get two shades using the inner shadow how do you get three
For your picture as example, there is:
- Inner shadow for the lighted part (px depends on the thickness) - use filter
- Inner glow (magnified between 80-90%) for the inner dark border - use filter
- Border (1px for 128x) - use filter
- Drawn shadow - without filter

For the seamless tile, it's a bit too difficult to explain (I really should release a video for that) but what I can say is that you should use the grid set to 128x128 and then duplicate each part that go beyond the area...
I use MS Paint.
Is there any vector-like tool I should use?
I have photoshop but it is 7.0 and I don't think that version has vector
Inkscape is a free, open-source vector graphics program that is pretty awesome. It should handle this stuff easily, and it will export to PNG format.

Thanks:D I find this program very useful in some circumstances.
I don't know how to scale stuff down to 128x128. So I've wasted a few hours on that. I think I'll use Inkscape for templates and then just mess around in PS.
Example: (Firestone from the Evil Minecraft mod)

its 128x128 BTW.
I would like feedback.

I brought photoshop Very Happy. Student edition anyway. But it was a waste of time since ive now "aquired" Adobe creative suite CS6.

EDIT. This was supposed to be a reply to an earlier comment about "Who actually buys photoshop"

Hello Sphax, Just accidentally have tranparency on the outside pixels of a couple of my textures.

-How do you remove this?
-Whats your settings in photoshop to stop it from happening?

Just go over the pixels and either erase them or fill them in Very Happy

I made script to erase the transparent pixels. Sadly, Photoshop don't have settings for that.

It's a Photoshop script I made which get the transparent part of the picture transformed 2bit and then apply it to the 32bit one... Winking
