The first two pics are from technic but not the recommended build, it's the development build. I can't get sphax to work in recommended, it goes grey in the texture pack menu.
Yeah I am using 128, I've tried 64 but the same thing happens.
I just tried manually installing OptiFine, I read that many people just copied and replaced the files into technic's modpack.jar without any problems.
So I did that and ran technic, it didn't crash but all the mods were gone, the water and lava were fixed but the items were still glitchy and the blocks had that weird glitch effect you get when Optifine isn't installed. ??? Basically it looked like this.
@Waster_of_time
Yeah - that's an indicator that your OptiFine is screwed up. So something went wrong when you installed it to your modpack.jar.
And though I told you a thousand times now I will ask you one more time to try the following:
1) Delete the technicssp folder from your .technicpack-directory.
2) Start the Technic Launcher and install the recommended build. Please! No dev-build or whatever.
3) Head over here again and download the latest texturepack (meaning Sphax PureBDCraft for MC1.3 - not the technic-pack-addition from the forums or anything) to your texturepack-folder of the recommended build of your technicssp-directory.
4) Don't touch anything yet - don't install no new OptiFine or no other mods or whatever.
5) Start your minecraft and see if pickaxe and cobblestone look fine.
6) Reply to this thread once again.
Why I said that? Because on vanilla minecraft it looks okay, the two screenshots with messed up lava and water were from dev-build and the last shots were from pack with altered OptiFine. No screens from vanilla-technicpack yet, right?
I have done that. I've deleted the technicssp folder a dozen times already and installed the recommended build and then re-downloaded the TP (1.2.5 and 1.3) and placed it in technic's texture pack folder, it does not work.
The only way I can get sphax to work at all is by installing the dev build but when I run the game the crazy stuff happens.
Only after I have tried these things is when I start fiddling with stuff like optifine or installing the technic textures.
I have noooooo idea what to do next. I am starting to become obsessed with this, I'll get these textures to work even if it kills me.
What the hell am I doing wrong then? I haven't come across anyone else having similar problems, I bet it's something ridiculously stupidly simple. I've even tried force updating my vanilla minecraft along with reinstalling technic in case some how the optifine installed in the vanilla was effecting the technic some how, but of course nothing worked.
Thanks for your help man, I was literally just about to give up when I started to think maybe it was a mac problem since the TP worked the way it was supposed to for you (I assume your using windows), so I googled "mac problems with sphax" or something.
Anyway, the answer was ridiculously simple, when the mac downloaded the Sphax TP it downloaded it as a folder and not a .zip file.
Me being an idiot just compressed the whole folder (strangely enough this worked with my vanilla minecraft) instead of compressing all of the files in the folder and using the archive.zip as the TP.
Thats why it wasn't working and now it is and the textures are working too!
Thanks for being patient with me and convincing me to keep going! If any other mac users out there are having similar problems it's because the texture pack isn't compressed correctly. That's it.
im brand new to the forum, and brand new to minecraft and the technic pack! but loving it!
anyway, i managed to download the sphax texture pack and it works lovely on minecraft and technic, the only problem ive encountered so far is that the Apatite is still shown as vanilla minecraft texture, and the dug up ore is also shown as a little 2d purple stone rather than the nice rounded purple gem.
any ideas why this is happening? i dont seem to be having any problems anywhere else so far, all other ores are shown correctly, but i havnt built any machines or anything yet!
I love PureBDCraft, recently downloaded Technic Launcher and installed the files into the texturepacks folder under technic, however I come to the issue where anything that is included in the mod [besides whats already in the texturepack by default] is not textured, I downloaded the recommended technic 7 texture file for the texture pack, yet I come to the issue that Minecraft counts both of them as separate texturepacks, I've tried default and i've tried the technic pack textures and can confirm that they both work, but I have no idea how to merge those files together to count as one file [changing files and stuff around isn't really my thing] The process I did in installing them was download both zips, drag the zip files into the folder and extract them to that location. They work, but dont count as one texturepack.

I think I'm going mad.
@Waster_of_time
For recommended build: Be sure to install OptiFine for MC1.1 into your modpack.jar - don't use the builds for MC 1.2.5 or 1.3!
For dev-build: Be sure to use OptiFine for MC 1.2.5 the way said above.
While for texturepacks the version-number isn't important it is though for mods themselves!
@ Amon
I FIGURED IT OUT!

Damn Macs.
@Waster_of_time
Glad you did it!
I wanted to ask about compression issues earlier - but couldn't think that it would be the problem. *laughs*
