[WIP] [128x+] Ars Magica

This is a texture patch for the Minecraft mod Ars Magica, which can be found here.

Here's a list of my personal priorities. The higher it is on the list, the earlier I'll complete it. But it's by no means set-in-stone, and I'm open to suggestions if you really want a certain texture. I'll edit this list to show when textures are completed.

  • The basic blocks, block_textures.png COMPLETE
  • Mobs (elementals, Hecate, etc.)COMPLETE
  • Items (not including spell scrolls)IN PROGRESS
  • "custom blocks" (caster, arcane generator, etc.)
  • Spell scrolls
  • Armors
  • Mage mobs
  • particle effects
  • GUIs

I'll initially be posting 128x .png exports along with .svg files. This means that you should be able to export your own 256x, 512x, 1028x, etc. textures with any vector software, such as Adobe Illustrator. I personally use the open-source program Inkscape, and I can't guarantee perfect compatibility with anything else.

All textures are 100% my original work. You may download them or modify them for personal use. If you would like to redistribute them (in a modified form or in their original state), please contact me, either by posting in this thread, or @_BluShine on twitter (I'll probably respond faster on twitter). The exception to this is posting re-scaled versions of the textures within this thread, for which you don't need to ask permission.

This is a link to all the texture files.There, you will find all the .svg files, along with everything else. When I complete texture folders/sheets, you will be able to find them there, and I will also post direct links in this thread.

Updated 5/15/2013 128x for version 1.5.1 here. Block and mobs are complete. Almost all items are complete.

Finished the block textures. Unfortunately, there's a bit of a problem with the runes, as you can see. Anyone know how to fix this? Or is this a known bug with Optifine/Forge? Or should I contact the mod author? Let me know if you have the same problem, or if it's just me.

Anyways, here's the download for 128x. Tomorrow, I'll put up some downloads for more resoultions, vector source files, and I'll update the main post.

Thanks! I haven't gotten in to GUIs and items yet, so I'm not sure how much help I can offer right now. Once I get into that stuff, I'll have more resources to share. But if you have any questions about how I did something, or just need tips or ideas, feel free to ask.

It hadn't been updated. But now it has! (right-click, save image as blocktextures.png, then overwrite the old one)

The last time I posted the pack, Venitium wasn't in the game. Also included are the two magical flowers (desert nova and blue orchid). Oh, and there's .svg versions on min.us, too. I'm almost done with the mobs, and once I am, I'll post some updated .zip files.

Unfortunately, the update changed the inscription table from a block into a 1x2x1 "custom block", and my old texture for it is useless. So that's next on my list, since the new texture really annoys me, it doesn't even fit with the default textures Hmm

really cool mod and nice textures good job it i will try to use it with thaumcraft 3 and twilightforest should make like a nice magic stuff

Maybe someone else should take over.

Yeah, haven't done much work on this recently, due to classes and I kinda lost interest in Minecraft. Also, there didn't seem to be a whole ton of interest in the pack.

Anyways, since the 1.5.1 update, I'll have to change some stuff. Should have it fixed within a day or so, so my block textures will work. I like the new format, it's much easier to use.

As far as mob textures go, I've got everything done except for the Lich, the Tower Guardian, the Druid, and the Chest Golem. I'm gonna try to finish those up within a week or so.

Past that, I think I'll try to work on the custom blocks (shelves, tables, etc.). Then I might do the items.

If someone wants to do the armors, mages, or the GUI, feel free to post it here. Even if it's just temporary stuff or re-colored things, it's better than nothing.

As always, feedback is appreciated. Both positive and negative. Also, if you like my work, sharing it is a good way to motivate me to work faster. Just make sure to link people to this thread.
