Any update on this? This pack makes me have extremely low FPS while on my world, no matter the resolution of the pack.

Playing on a I7, 9th gen and 2060 RTX, I get the same lag spike also, regardless of what resolution I use, the only fix I've found is switching to the default texture pack,

I was reluctant to change but I was trying to clear a forest and was dropping down to less than 12fps. That being said, I'm inclined to believe its something to do with dropped saplings, or other crops as I would get a noticeable (albeit more manageable) framedrop whenever I was clearing my wheat farm.

Anyway, somethings definitely wrong and only seems to be affecting this texture pack

Just as a note for some reason Mojang closed the bug report linked earlier in favour of one made later.

Really sorry about necroing this, but I'm having exactly the same problem with Bedrock and PureBDCraft 256x on our Realm.
I'm running a RTX 3090 and, sometimes, the fps is just fine. But most times it just sinks to around 9 fps and the gpu and cpu use isn't even at 30%, usually not even 20%.
I'm now at v1.16.220 and really don't know what else to try. Already did a full video driver reinstall with DDU and full Minecraft reinstall and nothing seems to work.
It's worth mentioning that resource packs and realms right now are really messed up, since we can't even see which resource packs are active and can't delete or change it. It's just that months ago when I last played the Realm was just fine and we changed nothing since then.
A friend of mine with a 3080 and a 5800X has the same problem.
Please halp!
Thanks for any input.

I've moved your post as you posted in a thread about Java before.

As for your issue please read the previous posts in this thread.

Thanks, HanFox! And sorry about the wrong place.
I see now that's not as uncommon as I thought. I hope Mojang or Sphax could fix this bug soon.

I would like to expand on this post due to experiencing similar issues. I recently purchased Bedrock version of Minecraft for my new PC. I was previously playing on Xbox Series X with zero issue.

I use the PureBDCraft w/ PureBDCraft HD UI on Minecraft Realms.

I have a storage room setup with item frames to label the boxes with an enchanting area next to it. When looking in that direction of my base framerate drops so bad I can barely move. The only way I can get into my base is by looking at the floor. Also seeing frame rate drops where lots of items are on the ground such as if kelp has been broken and floating in the water. I've had several instances after being in the nether for an extended period of time performance drops to the point where the game is unplayable.

  • If I remove the texture pack zero performance issues.
  • I have deleted and reinstalled the texture pack to Realm and PC several times
  • Updated drivers
  • Taken off realm and ran locally, still performance issues
  • Only happens when playing on PC

I also have the same issue. When going near my storage room with item frames the framerate drops to 2 fps. After removing the items from the item frames the framerate rose back to playable levels (50-68fps). It seems to be the items in the item frames that causes lowered framerates.

It's not item frames it's entities. Simply the number of entities being rendered will drop frames heavily. Even at lower resolution settings. BDCraft historically has blamed Mojang saying it's a problem with all texture packs, but I've tested every high res pack available and BDCraft is the worst performance wise by far. Unfortunately it's also the best looking and I can't really play on any other texture pack since I've gotten so used to it. Even the other 128x packs. Don't think there's another 256x.

The only solution is lowering the res to 128 or 64x which helps but will still get overloaded with too many entities, and limiting the amount of entities that are allowed in a loaded area, which basically makes it not worth playing at all. 1 Guardian farm or really anything complex or worthwhile and it's back to default textures or single digit frames. i7700k/2080Ti/32GB 3200 RAM

I wish it had an option to not apply bdcraft textures to floating item entities as they aren't really neccessary and seem to be the majority of the cause of entity frame drops. Other entities will do it too, but obviously it's easier to mass produce items in farms which is where alot of the "lag" comes from when playing with texture packs like this. Item frames and the like are easy to avoid. Building worthwhile farms that produce tons of items is not.
