It is impossible to change the resolution in realms.

256x 128x 64x 32x //

Press the cogwheel icon to try to change

Not changed Only 256x

It's only available in offline single mode.

This is an ongoing game issue that Mojang don't seem to really be addressing directly (or even taking responsibility for in bug reports).

Here's a similar report: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/REALMS-6679 (EDIT: These appear to be the most relevant still open bug report: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/REALMS-2468 / https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-151391).

You can see in the response by [Mod] Umija5895M in one of the reports a "workaround" that's laughable, and that the bug report has been closed and referring to general resourcepack crashes instead of them addressing the specific Realms issue.

I can't really recommend what you do in this situation. Opening a new bug report will likely just get it closed as a duplicate, and the 2 other reports they link to have been open since 2019

We're not sure why Mojang aren't fixing these sorts of issues... they've stated numerous times that upcoming optimisations will sort it out... but they've been saying that for a few years now.

I am on Bedrock Edition windows 11 and no matter what I do, the resolution stays at the max with Vanilla BDCraft. 256x
my friends join from their ps5 console and it doesn't let me enter the realm. As much as I try to lower the resolution, it returns and stays at its maximum. help me pls

I can use it on 128x128 without a crash which is what I'm trying to do. The issue is that I own a Realm and becuase of the way it works the realm is unable to save subfolders selections so it's by default using the 256x256. I've tried every way I can think of to get the subfolders selection to stick. I would have had an easy solution but sense you guys decided to make you're files inaccessible on a pc I can't just delete all subfolders and keep the 128x128 like I wanted. Please allow a separation of the texture resolutions or make them able to be downloaded separately on the marketplace. Oh and my main system I use is ps4 but I was doing thing on pc sense it would have been easy.

I see another person had the same issue as me with no solution. I think it would be easy enough to just to have them be separate downloads like they are for java. I really enjoy this pack but I feels like I wasted my money on it because all I play on is my Realm...

I've merged your posts.

We aren't able to separate resolutions. Microsoft don't allow multiple packs like that.

It's also not our fault that Mojang are disinterested in fixing the Realm resolution selection bug.

In the next update we think we have a workaround, but it will mean that 64x will be automatically selected for any one who joins the Realm. 64x works for most devices, from what we've seen.

No, it's not perfect, and, no, we're not happy about it, but we're a bit stuck when Mojang don't care to fix and optimise the game for resourcepacks.

hello i bought the vanilla texture pack for the console version and the pure bd. On my realm server the game crashes every time with the vanilla pack because the resolution is set to 256x. this cannot be changed either, as it keeps jumping to 256x. it works with the pure bd, since the standard resolution there is 64x. can this also be done for the console version of the vanilla package please ??
