After 6 hours yesterday and 4+ hours today i've come to the conclusion that IT IS the texture pack causing games to crash due to an overdrive of memory. In offline worlds you can adjust the Resolution (x32 x64 x128 x256), the game will start with x256 by default. The error/glitch is that changing the slider on a REALM will not actually update the resource pack, e.g. switching it from x256 to x128, hitting refresh, exiting the realm settings, upon reopening settings you'll see the texture pack has gone back to 256. This is why a lot of people are confused to why this troubleshoot does not work. Sadly the only way around is to not use the texture pack on realms :(

Noted.

I can't see an open bug report for this on the official tracker, although Mojang are likely already aware (as I stated before they're aware of some bugs that need fixing with the latest update and resource handling).

If someone with the issue who owns an effected pack can post a new bug report and then post a link to the bug report here it could be useful to keep track of if Mojang fix the issue:

The latest update of Minecraft Bedrock has caused quite a few issues for some reason.

Currently we suggest trying to turn the resolution of the textures used by following the steps in our Troubleshooting Guide: help-centre-f4/bedrock-troubleshooting- ... t6976.html
I'm on Xbox and I'm trying to lower the resolution, but it's never applying. I'll lower it to 128x and back out of the world edit and it'll always go back to 256x. I've also tried doing it from the options menu, but once I leave the edit screen it always goes back to 256x. I have spent about a week trying everything I can think of, but nothing works.

I've merged your post, as this is the thread we're using to track this issue.

On iPad (latest version, cleared all caches/downloads in game too), with the resource pack applied locally on 128 I can join Realms. When I apply the resource pack to the server the app is just crashing though. Every time I change the resolution settings on the resource pack I applied to the server from 256 to 128, the interface said it's saved. Once clicking edit again it jumps back to 256, so there seems no way of fixing this for the servers.
Am I doing something wrong here?

I’ve been following this thread for a few weeks now and tried all solutions presented (I have tried using my pureBDcraft on both Xbox one and Nintendo Switch) and am still having the same issue where it crashes the game before loading the world. Is there any plan or eta on when this issue might be resolved? I am aware the texture pack works in single player offline however I have an online realm I play on and it’s been almost a month and there hasn’t seemed to be any progress on fixing this glitch.

Sadly Mojang haven't given us any more information as to exactly the progress of this issue they've created in the latest update of the game.

I recommend you post and vote in these two bug reports to try and get Mojang to make fixes:

Hello.
I play on Xbox One X and since the Bedrock 1.1.17 update I have the same problem. The texture pack crash the game when it apply on a Realm or with a 256 resolution.
Have you got any solution?
Thank you.

I've moved your post to the correct thread for the issue.
