This bug will be fixed in future (upcoming) update of PureBDcraft.

I know this is off-topic but is that the normal Sphax BDCraft font?
It looks kind of better than mine does.... weird

Yes, this is the default Sphax-Font.
The Font must be eider in assets/minecraft/textured/font, or in assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/font.
For the later folder, you have ti use Optifine and to activate the costume font Option (if the font is in the first one, this have to be deactivated).
If this is true for you and you are seeing not the Sphax font (and not the MC-Default-Font)...
Then check your Mods. It may be, that one ore two of them are the cause of this behavior.
For me it was balkars weapon Mod and "the barrel Mod" (later one have been fixed).

I figured it out after I looked into the font folder where is says ascii.alt as an alternate which explains a lot
I now got this font and pretty happy with it
