I've dedicated 16Gb of RAM to MC which should be more than enough for anything but every time I try to load up the game it crahses and it gives me a Null Pointer Exception. I checked the crash report and it said something about a texture from Twilight Forest so I deleted that and sure enough, it loaded. Anyone know why that would be causing the game to crash?

It's impossible to guess without your game log.

I can't see anyone else having issues, which is fairly rare, but judging by the line that errors in Twilight Forest it's trying to use the lava textures for something and then just straight up fails reading the texture information... possibly you don't have enough RAM available for it to read the lava texture whilst loading the pack, as it's a big texture...

Firstly try removing OptiFine, just to see if it works correctly. As it appears to be a rendering issue of sorts.

If removing OptiFine does work then try upgrading it to the latest version just to see if maybe it's a bug that has been fixed.

Otherwise you may have to see if 64x loads instead of 128x.
