Can not add more Ram to Minecraft

Hello,

i have 64Bit and 8GB Ram and tried to add more Ram to Minecraft.
However neither magic launcher nor the .bat file worked.

Can anyone of you help me out?

Are you sure you've got 64bit Java installed?

What error are you actually getting?

thank you for your fast answer but i tried it with the minecraft launcher and it works now
