I'm making a personal custom BDcraft resourcepack for MC114, which aims to reflect back on many old BDcraft textures, specifically PureBDcraft for MC16. This involves bringing back many old textures, such as the old grass, old flowers, old lava, old netherrack, and much more. Part of my goal is to remove a lot of 3D models and revert them to 2D, including torches. I went into the assets/minecraft/models folder in the MC114 resourcepack folder, and I deleted all the .json files for the 3D torches and the flames that come out of them. I also replaced the torch.png with the one from MC16 in the assets/minecraft/textures/blocks folder. When I open Minecraft, the torch item appears alright in the inventory/creative menu (looks like it did in MC16) but in the world, both the ground torches and wall torches have missing textures. I'm not sure how, considering the only thing in the resourcepack that has anything to do with torches is just the texture file (torch.png). No 3D or custom model files, much like I'm making another resourcepack without any of them. Is there something I'm missing? Or is there an alternative way to re-add the simple torch texture, prior to it being changed in MC18? I'd send screenshots but apparently they are too large to upload.

You've probably missed removing the torch.json from

Code: Select all
