Hi there,

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place. I've tried searching across the forums and can't find anyone having the same problem as me.
I downloaded and installed PureBDCraft for Java 1.15 and everything looks fabulous. Except my player character is still looking like the default vanilla texture for both Alex and Steve. Is there something I'm missing? Do I need to put something from the resource packs in a different folder for the game to recognise a player custom skin?

Thanks in advance!

Generally it just worked if you played offline.

There's every possibility Mojang started to force the vanilla Steve/Alex skins.

What exactly are you doing to see the Alex/Steve skins?

Originally I did nothing, then I tried finding the .png file in the zip of the entities and resizing it to 64x64 pixels to use as a skin (did NOT work). When loading up a game it initially shows the custom skin for maybe 2-3 seconds and then reverts back to the default.

I’ll try playing offline and see if that helps!

Hi, I've tested this further now.
I've been testing this only in singleplayer mode and the custom Steve skins show up if I disable my ethernet/wifi connection on my computer, but even if my skin is set to Alex it defaults to Steve. Even if I try playing singleplayer with access to the internet, Alex shows up but in the default minecraft texture. Although I'm making sure PureBDcraft/VanillaBDcraft (whichever one) is above the default minecraft textures in the resource pack list, but not sure what else I'm doing wrong to make this keep happening.
Any insight?

It could just be a weird quirk Mojang force in to the game. They make weird choices all the time.

I've never really fiddled with offline skins, especially not HD ones. Any information I give you is just what I remember other people saying to do.

The only other way I know of getting HD skins to work (although, I'm not sure how this particular mod handles the thin Alex skin) is to use the Mine Little Pony mod (it currently only supports up to MC1.15.2)...

There are instructions for HD skins in the HD BDcraft Skins thread (they are a bit outdated, and I think they use Fabric instead of LiteLoader now): releases-for-mods-f9/bdcraft-skins-t251.html
