Hey there.
When playing Minecraft with PureDBCraft 512x512, I get REALLY bad performance. My PC has 16GB of RAM, (With 8GB allocated to Minecraft) an Intel i5-9400F, and a Palit RTX 2060 StormX that is using factory default clocks. I am using Optifine but I also tested Vanilla Minecraft which had no performance change whatsoever, I literally get 1FPS in every situation. Honestly am surprised that the FPS counter didn't change to SPF. I tried using VanillaBDCraft 512x512 and It peaked at 70FPS and chilled around 60-65FPS. And I tested PureDBCraft 256x256 and it ran perfectly fine too. So this issue is isolated to PureDBCraft. I've enabled most performance increasing options on Optifine to no avail. And I'm running out of ideas so I suppose it would be a good idea to look for help here.
