Well white textures are usually when you don't have enough Video memory available for the selected resolution.
What graphics card do you have?

Press F3 whilst in a world and then take a screenshot with F2.

Oh, I believe it's actually F3+Q.
I've never seen the screen without all the extra information before. I thought that was the default
