Just want to share how unfortunate it is to lock us out of 64x on the switch. Apparently a mod here was saying people were crashing at 64x. It's such BS because I've been using 64x for months and only crashed twice, now today I was looking to get vanillabd and noticed I could update putebd, cool!

Spoiler alert NOT FKN COOL.

Now that I've updated I'm no longer able to play the 64x resolution and I'm salty as all hell. Blows my mind how I've been running it fine for months and now I'm being forced to downgrade because of an update I honestly didn't even need.

I'm sorry you're upset, however we don't have much control over things like this.

We submit the packs to Microsoft to be quality assured (or they react to bugs on their private bug tracker) and they tell us we have to change limits, rename files, or do things differently. All they really care about is that the game doesn't crash. If it crashes it gives users a bad experience, which reflects badly on the game.

What would be best is if the game was optimized in relation to HD textures.

For example we can't release 512x like we do on Java because it would require something like 18GB of RAM on a device (which most PCs don't even have yet). 512x on Java requires ~5GB of RAM (for comparisons sake).

Just remember we don't do these things on purpose and if we could work around the issue we would, but we can't.

So recently downloaded ChromaHills, and was using it on the Switch, I did however notice that it is a 64X64 resource pack, as higher resolution packs appear to be reappearing, does this mean PureDB in 64X64 could be back on the table? This is by far my favorite resource pack so I will wait as long as I have to :)

I'm with you on this one. I loved using the 64x textures. Let's hope mojang optimizes bedrock so we can enjoy using this res again...
