Confused why the oak planks look dark

I updated my texture pack yesterday but was extremely confused on why the oak planks look so dark. They look almost as dark as spruce. Is there any way I could go back to the old textures?

The colour they were before the update was one designed to match the vanilla colours, but most long term users did not like the change, and neither did we. Hence we reverted it. There's no way for you to use the light colour again.

The current colour is one that has been used in PureBDcraft since the pack was first released in 2011.
