[512x - 32x] Chisel [MC1.6 - 1.7, 1.12, 1.16, 1.19]
I will have to create a lot of the designs from scratch because I don't have the original .PSDs (It makes sense to do them in 512px).Redlotus99 wrote:I can post what I have up, unless you want to create them all from scratch. I am sure you were aiming for 512x512 so it can be scaled down, but I was unsure.
Let me know what I can do to help if any thing.
If you can go over all the files I have moved into the .zip below and compare them with what you have. I moved and renamed everything I could see that had changed but it will help to double-check.
Please post what you have different.
I'm currently trying to make the repeating designs that appear in most folders. (array.png, braid.png etc.) If you would like to make textures, it would be useful to finish the metals and tech folders.
I don't use photoshop either, I use paintshop and prefer seperate .png files but I can still open .psd files and swap them over.econerd wrote:I do have the shading and lighting layers already for various bricks, if you want them. unfortunately i don't use photoshop, but i can see if i can save them as a psd if you want them.
(To be honest, I kind of rage-quit doing these textures because I had too many issues with them connecting seamlessly. I should get back to work on them! I need a kick up the butt )
Having lots of different files for each layer can get confusing, and means more work puting them back together. What file type deos paintshop use? I use drawplus which can save in some other formats.
Ah, good old connected textures, they do take a bit of practice to get right, but so worth it in the long run. I take a copy of the textures once ive got the main of it done, then paste it on either side and adjust as needed so they line up, dunno if paintshop allows you to paste stuff outside the work area though.

Question, could I update this to work with Chisel in 1.10.2? I can't for the life of me make actual textures, but I'm very good at converting from 1 version of MC to another.
EDIT: Update! I have about half the files working with the texture, however, there are quite a few new ones added in 1.10.2 that need textures.

I'm going to try and have a look at this. It's a shame to see such a ubiquitous (and awesome) mod fall by the wayside, especially when so much talent from a load of BDCraft community artists has gone into it already.
No promises though! I have a habit of becoming rather busy. I'll try and at least get things up onto GitHub.
@HanFox - could we get a link to a single .zip file of all source PSD/PNGs on the front page? MediaFire seems to require upgrading to premium in order to bulk download everything...
