Very true, it's a lot easier to see the details on a larger canvas
That being said... The finer the details, the less chance of them being kept in-tact on a re-size, if I remember correctly.

Of course! Fewer pixels means fewer details...

I guess we can assume Sphax does too, but I don't know. All I know is that the majority of artists on here, start out with 512x so they can re-size.
Weird thing to say. Everyone who uses PS and doesn't flatten parts of the file does textures in vector. Me using Fireworks, does them in vector. Someone doing it in GIMP is doing it in vector as long as I understand how xcf's work.
They're only no longer vector once they've been flattened in layers or saved as a flatfile such as png.
Funny thing about Sphax is he draws them in 512x, but never tests them in 512x because his Macbook apparently sucks.

The cute little chicobos are done and I'm working on the rest of the items! Shouldn't be too long now until I can release all of the patch ^^ I'll release it in 512 and ask if I need to make any changes and when I get an ok on everything I'll make downloads for all of the other sizes!

When I tried to change the Chocobo disguise armor it just turned out like this:
Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Does your log mention anything about bad ratios?

Log? You're going to have to speak to me as I was a total noob because I am ^^'''
I haven't gotten any error messages or anything. Everything else runs just fine

If you go to your .minecraft folder there should be a ForgeModLoader-client-0.log you can open in Notepad and search for "ratio".
Alternatively you can just make sure the file is definitely 32x bigger in size than the original (which I guess would make it 4096x2048...).
