For those people who come across RWTema's new Dense Ores mod and have IC2 will hit an issue (most certainly with the 64x pack).
Three of the ore blocks (Tin , Copper and Uranium) textures are saved oversized or in a higher something or other I don't understand. Basically loading and resaving these 3 ore texture blocks will fix an issue whereby MC will crash and fail to load.
The Dense Ores mod takes the existing mod texture and alters it, so these being different somehow is what caused the problem.
Addition for clarity: when I said oversized I mean filesize not the actual texture size.

actually I wouldn't mind maintaining the IC2 updates, am I also able to switch around existing textures?

You can do what you like.
Also, in relation to what b0bst3r said, I've re-ran the ore files. Not sure how they happened to be so large. Probably some crappy data left somehow. So that should be fixed.

Sure I'll take it, thanks.
EDIT: are you able to give me a folder download for all of the IC2 downloads you have. It would be annoying to download all of them.

Do you mean like the link in the OP that says "Browse old releases"?

Yea, you can. Go to the "Browse old versions" link and click the "Save All" link.
It'll present you with a download called "IndustrialCraft2.zip" which is approximately 375MB.
If that's not what you mean I literally have no idea what you're asking.
