I'll be honest, I have no clue outside of occasionally testing the 1.7.10 dev builds for myself every once in a while. And usually it's a mess of crashes. The 1.7 versions don't seem to have as many of the items implemented into the game, either - so I stick to 1.6.4 to test out textures!
I don't really have any insider info outside of that, sadly - other than checking the
issue tracker and
downloads page.
And yes, unless the mod suddenly becomes amazingly polished - and it does have the potential to be 'Better Than Wolves' on atomic steroids - I don't think I'll really be using it in future either. This patch has simply become a great way for me to mess about with/practise some core Photoshop and build up a nice set of reusable vector assets for future patches.
And of course if anyone would like to lift any textures out of this patch for use in other patches, by all means please feel free to do so.

OP updated with new completed download links and source files.
This essentially finishes off the mod for 1.6.4, barring a few odd textures that are either broken or unused in-game.
As for 1.7 - I've retested the latest build and it's still all over the place and seems to be missing a lot of items that were previously in 1.6. The 1.6 patch should largely work for 1.7 (aside from a few renames, and an updated model for the Electric Motor) should the mod one day become stable/ready enough to be included into modpacks.
So in light of that, I'm going to postpone further work on this texture patch for now so I can focus on other projects. If anyone has a greater interest in keeping the patch updated for 1.7 as the mod progresses, then please feel free to do so!
