Make sure you add some kind of description just under the banner. Also, I've modified your post to make it compliant with the currently allowed formatting rules. Having sections all over the place was unnecessary.

I also removed your purebdcraft links because the users should know where to get the downloads. The installation guide you provided is also almost identical to the typical patching guide HERE, the difference being the launcher. All the users on the site are encouraged to read it first.

That being said, everything else looks good to me :)
I'm sure HanFox will be around to make sure I didn't overlook something, as I usually do :dork:

Wow, there was a big change. It's exactly the same construction as in the horizons texture pack.
No, new users don't know where they can't find it (As I was the first time here I had the problem to find the main pack with the correct version.) and it is much easier if they only need to do one click to get the main texture pack. The same for the installation tutorial.
So I don't understand why you make it complicated for the users.

Well here comes the caveat... This website is a pseudo-forum, which doesn't lay out information in a linear fashion. You kind of have to dig through topics to find what you want and I admit that it can be a bit daunting for new members. As far as knowing where to download the official texture pack, the big "Downloads" button at the top of the page kinda gives it away.

As far as your horizons patch, I'll compromise to a degree, but these changes in format are also because of the new patch database which is going to be the main hub for these patches. I'll see about centralizing information on patching/downloads, once that site is public. Another reason we prefer you to let the users get the downloads from the downloads section, is because of the other downloads there, like the resource pack and other Sphax projects. This isn't just a website for Minecraft patches anymore.

As far as why I let your Horizons pack slide with all that extra formatting, is because I was still in the middle of developing the new patch site.

Again, I agree it can be difficult to find information here, but when pointing users to the official downloads, it's best to direct them to the page and official guide. If they need more information then is provided, they can always ask for more on your thread :)

I've updated your OP installation guide to include a link to the Minecraft PureBDCraft download page, where they can see the resolutions they need. If that's not clear enough, go ahead and add more detail to your instructions :)

I apologize for any inconvenience this is, but we have to strike a balance between necessity and verbosity. I promise, with the new patch site, a lot of the inconvenience will disappear ;)

Somebody really needs to texture the HQM Mod. As this is the main part of the pack, it just doesn't fit in with everything else.

Yep, would be no big project. You can create a request if there is not already one ;)
