I can understand the difficulty. I really did get a sense of that cracked earth image you used for inspiration. You really did nail it. Sphax's smooth, cartoonish look has got to be difficult to mesh with a dry, cracked surface.
I googled for "cartoon cracked earth" to see if it came up with something inspirational and I came across this that looks pretty close:
https://i.imgur.com/3goeKRk.jpg, it came from this page:
https://switzdesign.blogspot.com/. But even that still has a smoothness to it. On the image page for the google search, a bunch of cartoonish cracks came up that I think better represent what the cracks between the dirt colors should look like - more straight lines and angular. Or even starting with that image I linked and removing all the circles and bubble-shaped accents from the chunks and replacing with more angular accents would go a long way. Maybe. Again I really know nothing about graphic design. Really I'm just rambling instead of getting back to work I need to get done.

Any chance for an update for version 0.8?
Edit: I'm an idiot, thanks a lot for the upgrade and keep up the good work

No none whatsoever
Edit: In case you may be wondering that was a joke since the 0.8 version was already posted in the OP when you asked for it.

So no matter what i try from what i read here, i cannot get the textures to run, only the base i can run, i checked my console on the FTB launcher and it said
Caused by: net.minecraft.client.renderer.StitcherException: Unable to fit: tinker:glass/stained/black/glass_3_r - size: 64x64 - Maybe try a lowerresolution resourcepack?
and it would do that with a different item and/or mod name when i go in to delete that file from the textures. But it works great with 32x textures. can you make a version of this that is 32x please? that would be greatly appreciated.

To everybody having problems installing the texture pack: I think I've figured it out.
I was having the same problem with using the resource pack for regrowth, even with 10GB of RAM allocated. If you're like me, you're using an NVIDIA Optimus system, meaning you have a dedicated NVIDIA GPU with a CPU that has integrated graphics to save power. Apparently, even if you force FTB to run on the dedicated graphics card, it will still use integrated when the launcher redirects to the modpack. There's probably a program or set of programs/applications/files that you can white-list for the dedicated graphics, but I'm not going to bother digging through them right now, so just set the global setting to use the high performance GPU.
1) Right click on your desktop and open the NVIDIA Control Panel
2) On the left, under "Select a Task..." click "Manage 3D settings" under the "3D Settings" menu
3) Click on the "Global Settings" tab
4) Change the main drop down menu from "Auto-select" to "High-performance NVIDIA processor"
5) Enjoy the texture pack and massive boost to frame rate
Edit: Oh, and don't forget to click "Apply" at the bottom before closing

My Sphax Textures of Regrowth just sometimes are really buggy. It's as if I'd have x-ray. Has someone got an idea why I have this error and how I can fix it?

I have exactly the same problem, its been bugging me for days now. It only seems to happen after you kill something other than that everything is fine. It even crashes my graphics drivers sometimes.
Here's a video of what it looks like.
