[128x - 32x] Technic: Tekkit [MC1.5 - 1.6]

LOL - nah caden, it was the full ores where it shows it only on 1 side of the block.

This pack will be updated or not? I'm driving out crazy looking for a Tekkit Sphax texture pack but noone seems to be interested in it .-.

Hi,
1) I've downloaded (till today latest) Tekkit 1.2.9e which is running on MC 1.6.4.
2) Than downloaded basic Sphax textures for vanilla Minecraft. That work OK.
3) Added OptiFine 1.6.4 HD D1. That is working OK.
4) Added patch for Tekkit 1.2.9e. That works also great -> but it's missing textures for ProjectRed mod (which is included in Tekkit 1.2.9e by default).

FYI: All textures are in 128x resolution.

I've tried to added this resourcepack manually, but those patches just won't work together.
Basic PureBDSphax textures + patch for modpack Tekkit -> OK
Basic PureBDSphax textures + patch for mod ProjectRed -> OK
Basic PureBDSphax textures + patch for modpack Tekkit + patch for mod ProjectRed -> KO

So I'm assuming that there could be some colisions? And how can I find out if yes? Are there some log files or some debuggin console or... ?

For start I've tried to delete gui folder in ProjectRed folder but it didn't help.

Any help would be appreciated... thanks!

What exactly do you mean by 'just won't work together'? If you mean that the game is crashing, then it is likely that you're out of RAM of VRAM. If you just mean that installing one patch causes the other's blocks and items and what-not to revert to default, then that's a bit different (more information will be required).

As for ProjectRed being missing in the first place, that is my fault (as I simply pulled together patches from this list, which apparently isn't as up-to-date as I thought). I'll update the patch in about a week (when I get back from overseas). That said, it'd be appreciated if anyone could test the current Tekkit patch and reply with any feedback regarding other missing patches (as of right now I am aware of ProjectRed, MFFS and Redstone in Motion). While I'll be unable to make textures for everything that's unpatched, I'll certainly try to add little bits that are particularly important. :)

No, game is not crashing, the resourcepack is just returning to default (sorry I should mention it).
1) Click on basic Sphax resourcepack (without any patch) -> load is ok.
2) Click on basic Sphax resourcepack + both patches -> the default resourcepack is loaded instead.

And how can I check what else is missing this resourcepack? By checking it in NEI? Or in creative mod? Or you want a complete list of all mods?

Anyway, really thanks that you are doing this!! Thanks :) .

Ah, that sort of issue... Basically what's happening is your game is running out of RAM/VRAM and so is unable to load all the textures. Your choices are:
  • Dedicating more RAM (if possible). If you don't know already, you can find out how to do this here.
  • If you are unable to do this, then you must decrease your pack's resolution. Depending on how much RAM you are lacking, you may only need to decrease the resolution of a few of your patches. Given that you are able to load the Tekkit patch without the ProjectRed patch installed, you're probably only running a little bit short.
In relation to testing what's textured and what's not, then just checking the creative menu or NEI would be fine. That said, I merely requested that from people in general if they happened to have noticed major gaps, I'm not too fussed. :)

Hmm, I've tought that it's weird. My total PC (notebook) memory is 8GB on W7 64bit with and I've dedicated to Minecraft 4GB already, so that is not enough? Ok, I'll definitely try to raise it. Problem is that I'm running server also (only for me and my brother) and it takes 2GB - do you think that it is enough? Or too much and I can lower it? And if this doesn't help, than 64x textures, here we go :) .
I'll let you know.

And when I get home after the work (now I have 10:29) I'll try to look at those another missing textures.

Anyway, thanks for help and - nice day! Or night. Or where ever you are :) .

I'am running an MC with 64x Sphax (and sphax sounds and spahx Music and extra ctm...) and somewhat around 100 (of course most of them are sphaxefizired ;) ) Mods, with 4GB of allocated Ram and can tell you:
This is plenty enough (i have only peeks of 60% usage! But i will keep it that high. Having some space is always good).
But i shold mention, that i have some performance-boost Mods installed. Fps++, optileaves and of course optifine...

But... why are are you using an dedicated Server, if you are only playing with your brother via LAN?
Joust open the Singelplayer-Game to LAN and you 2 are good to go.
