btw - running a server uses way less RAM than playing the game. You could probably get away with using 512 RAM for the server if there's only 2 ppl on it...probably even 256; however, I'd still use 1GB. Try it! :)

The issue with Balkon's Weapons can be explained by the fact that Tekkit is using an older version of Balkon. The correct patch for the version Tekkit is using is listed in this thread under the older versions button for MC 1.6.2. I have tested it and it works. Great job on building this pack though, thanks.

I've fixed this in my patch files, so this'll be fixed in the next update. :)

Well, now all that's left is for the handful of qCraft stuff. And then it will be totally finished, right?

Well it's close, but not that close. Here's my current changelog for the update that I'll release soon (probably Saturday, if not then Sunday). That said, it'll have a few more additions before the update.
Show
Changelog:
  • Added ProjectRed.
  • Added MFFS.
  • Added Trade Booth.
  • Added ForgeMultipart.
  • Added several MFR buckets.
  • Added Golden doors (Dimensional Doors mod).
  • Updated OpenCCSensors.
  • Fixed Balkon's WeaponMod.
  • Removed OpenBlocks.
Note: That changelog does not apply to the existing patch, this is for the next version.

With all of those additions made, that leaves these missing:
Show
Missing textures:
-Redstone in Motion.
~QCraft (Incomplete: Computer, Essence of Superposition, Observation, Entanglement; Quantum Goggles).
~Minefactory Reloaded (Incomplete: Many textures missing, but most vital textures are done).
~Equivalent Exchange 3 (Incomplete: Research Station, Calcinator, Upgrades).
~Galacticraft (Incomplete: Several textures aren't particularly Sphax-y).

Overall, the updated patch leaves the world looking very complete (i.e. worldgen'd blocks look complete), and the majority of 'mainline' textures are done.

Big update time. This fills in some major gaps and fixes a few bits here and there, leaving the pack nearly entirely patched. Unless the Technic people make any massive changes, this only has a little ways to go now.

Changelog:
  • Added ProjectRed.
  • Added MFFS.
  • Added Trade Booth.
  • Added ForgeMultipart.
  • Added several MFR buckets.
  • Added Golden doors (Dimensional Doors mod).
  • Added EE3 alchemical upgrade.
  • Updated OpenCCSensors.
  • Updated MFR bricks.
  • Updated Galacticraft decorative metal blocks (consistent with TE blocks now).
  • Fixed Balkon's WeaponMod.
  • Removed OpenBlocks.

The latest update of this patch causes Tekkit to crash on my machine, even with a fully up-to-date install and a freshly downloaded Sphax texture pack.

Anyone else having the same issue?

I've didn't test it yet, but... have you tried lower resolution for this patch? Like e.g. x64?

You'll need to post a crash log in order for me to be able to provide an informed suggestion. That said, I'd be fairly confident in agreeing with Targens and guessing that it's a RAM issue. Check your crash log and look for something along the lines of 'Out of Memory Error' or 'unable to fit ____.png'. If that's present in the log, you'll need to allocate more RAM (tutorial: here) or downgrade the resolution.
