I think what we need is a completely different system for texture pack mods. It would be nice if there was a central database with 512x512 Photoshop, Corel, Gimp and .png files which are sorted by mods.
When you then want to make a patch for a mod pack you can choose the mods from a list and if you think a texture is missing in your pack which is really important to you and you are skilled enough to create a texture, you can contribute it to the mod which will then be added to the mod pack.

The up- & down scaling really is an issue of which I am aware of and I will try to improve it with not re-sizing the GUIs in the next patch and trying to get more files from patch creators. The problem is that I simply cannot check the 25.000 images in the pack individually and I don't have a link to every single mod texture pack as I took this over from Novamanga, who put it together from other packs and not only from the mod packs.

This is not an excuse, it is just an explanation the next patch will hopefully come soon but don't expect me to turn into a magician and solve all the issues. But I am aware that these exist and will try my best to get them sorted out. So we all can enjoy ourselves with an amazing mod pack that looks gorgeous.

Thanks especially for the supportive and constructive posts.

Amen, brother. :)

Except... I consider myself a wizard -- more than that, a planes walker -- but I can't even do this stuff anymore. Thanks for taking the time.

Hello,

I know there were some posts about the black sides on the thermal expansion machines already. I tried the metadata patch on the x32 and x64 packs and I tried downloading them both fresh and it is still occurring for me.

I see black fronts for:
Redstone Furnace
Pulverizer
Induction Smelter
Energetic Infuser
Igneous Extruder
Cyclic Assembler
Aqueous Accumulator
Glacial Precipitator
Sawmill
Autonomous Activator
Terrain Smasher

The fronts for Fluid Transposer, Magma Crucible, and Nullifier look fine.

The sides for all machines turn black when input/output is disabled for that side in the machine configuration. I hope this helps track down the texture issues.

Thanks.

Darkith, I had the same issue. I just grabbed the textures for Thermal Expansion from the other mod forum and copied them over the top of the ones in this pack. That seems to have fixed the issue.

Nobody's posted in over a week so just thought I'd mention that the Thermal Expansion textures, at least in the 64x pack, are still black. What I'm trying to figure out is how that happened in the first place. I'm still using Novamanga's pack from June 20th without any problem and I thought this pack was based on his work. I do notice the file sizes are 4 times larger in your pack for Thermal Expansion than in Novamanga's. Not sure if maybe that could be causing something?

I don't know what problems you guys have with the Thermal Expansion textures. I'm using this pack in 64x too and my textures are just fine! Find the error in your system and not in the textures.

@Thermal Expansion: I don't know what is causing these issues. The first time they occurred someone mentioned that if you use the resized ones from the TE patch it works. In the latest patch I have replaced mine with those and these issues still occur.
@Buildcraft: I'll have a look at it and I will make a small update pack as soon as possible.

Turninator95,

I replaced the TE textures with the 64x version from the TE Patch and they are working correctly. I've actually updated a lot of the textures in this pack with the 64x versions as there are white borders on a lot of the textures that I'm assuming happened when you resized the patches yourself. You may want to rebuild the pack using the 64x versions instead of resizing as it appears to be causing problems across the board. (white artifacts on edges, animated textures jumping, etc)

@rckymtnrfc
Can you please upload some screenshots from before and after so I can avoid these issues in the future as I personally didn't find any of these issues when I tested the pack.

Edit: If you have a version that is working better than mine I would appreciate if you could upload it and post it here so the others don't have to bother with this issues anymore.

Your pack is on the left and after I updated the Magical Crops textures on the right. You can also see around my Ender Pouch some white artifacts.

Edit: I should clarify, I didn't update the EnderChest textures yet, which is why I still have the white outline on the right side.

As far as making it available to others. Since I've only updated some of the textures, I don't think I should distribute it. I still need to update some of the mod textures. I update them as I notice them.
