Ok, here is a download link of what I have done so far. Also included are 2 overlays to go over the mod extracts files to let you what is what. Yeah I know what you mean. I got 12 types into the sheet and got bored. I have a complete list of what is what if you want it. I've got it scribbled on a bit of paper but could put it in a notepad file if you want.

Try re-downloading your version to TC and re-adding it. I'm using my latest version in my own Direwolf pack with no issues. I have allocated 8GB though. Try a bit more ram. You never know.

From your own investigation you have already found the texture pack is ok. Try the usual things: make sure you have the latest java, ensure you have enough ram allocated, and make sure you don't have optifine. It has been known to have major issues with tinkers.
