Some more info please:

What are your computer specs? Please include total RAM and VRAM.

Have you installed Optifine, this has been known to cause issues, remove it if you have.

Have you tried lowering graphics from fancy to fast? Also what render distance have you set?

Also are you running the latest version of Java? It does sound like a garbage collection issue because restarting the client fixes it.

I'm working shift at the moment so might not response that quickly. :)

Sure! I'm running a core i5-2500K, currently 16 gigs of RAM. GPU is a NVIDIA GTX960 with 2 gigs of VRAM.

I'm not running Optifine as I have had bad experiences with it before :) Java is 64-bit 1.8.0_101, reinstalled today. I don't believe it's a GC issue, since turning away from any animals seems to fix it.

I upgraded my RAM from 8 to 16 gigs today and allocated 10 gigs to Java from the launcher, but this didn't have any effect on the problem.

I'm trying fast graphics option as we speak. Otherwise I have not touched the video options in the current install, so rendering distance is 1 and advanced OpenGL and anisotropic filtering are off.

Is there anything else I can tell you to diagnose the issue?

Thanks for your help!

Try downloading a program called GPUZ and use it to monitor your vram usage. See if it is maxing out.

Thanks for the tip! I see that if I run a lot of programs the VRAM can max out, and it does affect my FPS, but it's not directly related to the issue, I think.

Some screenshots.

Here I'm running Sphax 1.7.2, x32 version and the Infinity Evolved patch 2.6.0, also x32. I'm looking at a non offending direction, FPS is nice and steady 40+. VRAM is not capped and GPU load is quite low.
Image

The next screenshots is taken a few seconds after the first one, I did nothing else than turn 180 degrees in game. FPS drops 5 and stays there. VRAM is still not capped, but GPU load rises a lot when this happens. If I turn back to the original direction, FPS rises immediately back to >40.
Image

For reference, here I'm looking at the offending direction after removing the 2.6.0 patch. Sphax 1.7.2 x32 is still running. No FPS problems at all and GPU load is a lot lower.

Any ideas?

A lot of people on the net seems to be saying is there is problems with win 10 and its latest anniversary update. Loads of people are reporting their fps dropping in minecraft since the update. I haven't seen any solutions apart from people rolling back to pre anniversary.

Looking at your screenshots the only spiking is your GPU. Maybe try updating your Nvidia drivers.

Another thing you could try is disabling fastcraft. I know in my game it is what causes the lighting glitches with Immersive Engineering.

I am aware there is a 1.10.2 version of Infinity released today. I will have a look at getting a pack together this weekend from what we have available.

You rock, hopefully sooner than later, planning on playing a lot this weekend. Seems like I've been waiting forever to do a proper 1.10 playthrough.

Update- Added download for Infinity Lite. The pack in made up with what I could find already made and there is a load of stuff I have put together from MC 1.7.10 or I have just made myself as a stop gap till whoever updates their thread.

This pack will be updated as textures become available.

Enjoy :)

Just a heads up, Mekanism's muffling and anchor upgrades (and maybe others) are not textured in this pack, but in the Hermitpack you released they are. Dragging the mekanism/mekanismtools folders from that pack fixed it.

Thanks for the release and fast work.

Any chance for a 128x on Infinity Lite? I've heard 1.10 uses a lot more memory than previous versions of minecraft, so is a 128x even feasible? I play 128x Infinity Skyblock at 60 fps so I have a pretty beast machine, but I've read about people not even being able to load certain texture packs on 1.10 due to memory stuffs.
