So, I downloaded PureBDcraft 256x and the accompanying addons (except the one that lets you change the way your items look, with the crossbows), and everything works. Except, that is, for the 3D items. 3D blocks work just fine, the texture pack, sounds and music work just fine, I think the tech pack would work fine but I haven't even found iron in my survival save yet, but the 3D items don't work. I'm feeding 10gb of RAM to Minecraft, and I can't think what wouldn't be working.

If you want to use the 3D items you'll need to load it above Damaged Items.

I do, I've got the 3D blocks, then items, damaged items, tech, BDcraft, music and sound in that order. Though, everything but BDCraft and the 3D items says MC111, and those two say MC112, and all the descriptions in the resource pack menu say "PureBDCraft 1.11". I hit the buttons for 1.12, did I accidentally download the wrong one?

The files have the wrong names as nothing changed between versions, but as people keep getting confused I'll see if I can get Sphax to correct them.

As for the order this is correct and works (remember the 3D swords will not show signs of damage... the download page does state the addons don't work with another):

Oh, I didn't realize it was just swords, I assumed that "More 3D Items" meant "more 3D items" and not "3D swords". It works, I was just looking in the wrong place.
