Water Texture in 1.13?

Hello, I recently updated bdcraft to 1.13 and all the water turned into a deep blue color similar to how it appeared in vanilla. Previously, bdcraft water had a light blue color similar to the one that appears in the trailer. Is this an intentional change or is it a bug on my part? If it is intentional, is there anyway I can customize the pack to get the original light blue color?

Before 1.13, the water looked like this

After downloading 1.13, it turned into this

I am using minecraft v1.13.2 with bdcraft 1.13. The game is unmodded.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is a 1.13 thing. It now tints water in "normal" biomes a blue color, regardless of texture.

I don't believe just a texture pack can get rid of or override this tint. However, Optifine can override it with custom water colors.

I've recreated the original water color by using a white color in Optifine, and the original PureBDCraft water textures.

Are you willing to install and use Optifine for this mod? If so, please tell me the resolution of the pack you're using, then I'll give you the files you need.

Yes, thank you. I'm using the x64 version. Just curious, would this also affect the water color of deep ocean biomes? It wouldn't be an issue for me as i prefer bdcraft's water texture over the vanilla one. It would be nice if minecraft just applied the blue tint exclusively to ocean biomes.

I've edited the Optifine colormap to make ocean water blue. If you'd like, I can tint other biome water as well, such as greenish for swamp.

Otherwise, here are the files:
PureBDCraft Original Water Color.zip
Copy these into your PureBDCraft folder and you should be good to go.

Also, for some reason (may be a bug) Optifine will apply the water colors even when Custom Colors are turned off. So, if you'd rather not have tinted sky, fog, sand, and stone, feel free to turn them off.

Please let me know if anything seems weird or not working. And enjoy! :)
(Maybe I could offer this as a mod for PureBDCraft if other people want it)

Thank you very much! It's working perfectly so far. For me, bdcraft just doesn't feel right without its original light colored water. I'll let you know if I encounter any bugs. Thanks again!

Awesome! I'm glad it's working for you. ^_^

Is it okay that frozen ocean water is the original light blue color? I can't figure out where the biome is on the color map.

Not at all. It still looks fantastic and is personally, a lot more preferable than the dark blue tint.

For me this has made only the water near land change to the original colour with the rest remaining darker. Any idea how to fix this?

That's actually part of the mod I made for lambsaucer, as they requested that ocean water be blue like pre-1.13. Although, I didn't test how ocean water looks blended with normal water around islands and the like. I'm going to try to make it look better by tinting all biome water around the ocean level, once I figure out how to do that.

In the meantime, here's a version where all water is the original turquoise color, if you would prefer that:

PureBDCraft Original Water Color Only

Edit 1: I figured it out. Literally all I had to do was define the map as a grid format. Oof. Now all biome water (except swamp) in this one is pre-1.13 blue around the sea level, and blends into the light blue water.

Unfortunately, a side effect of this is deep blue rivers. There are usually river biomes around large islands, so untinted river water would result in light blue water splotches around these islands.

Please let me know what you think of this, Lambsaucer. Personally, I think it looks so much better. ^_^

Edit 2: Oh yeah, I forgot that the tweak I made for lambsaucer uses the 64x water textures. Now I've added the water textures from all resolutions to both packages. Though, now the files are too big to be hosted on BDCraft. ^_^;

Edit 3: I've edited the underwater color map and particles as well to match the color of the original BDCraft water, and the pre-1.13 blue ocean water.

Sadly, I can't find a way to change the color of those purple "bubbles" with Optifine. They seem to be hardcoded in MC, much like that annoying "blue fog" you see in the background near the surface of ocean water.

I dont know if this is active anymore but it still works for 1.16 but there are two bugs: somehow there is fog at y=100 for like 5 blocks and at y=105 the fog is not there anymore and there is no swamp colour
