Connected textures not working 1.16.1

Hi there,

I recently installed the current pre-release of optifine and connected textures isn't working for me. I've tried a fresh download of pure bdcraft and triple checked the connected textures setting is on and still no luck. I've also had a friend try and it wasn't working for him either. I've checked and connected textures works on the default minecraft textures so it's likely not an optifine issue.

Any help would be appreciated.
