Gravisuite is 1.9.5 now, supporting MC 1.6.2
Is it possible to upgrade the resourcepack for it?

FYI the 1.9.6 for MC 1.6 works perfectly with 1.7.10 version, nothing new added and textures appear from first glance to be good.

Fair enough. I added MC1.7 links (basically just an excuse/reminder for me to move the 1.6 links out of SugarSync before the account expires).
