An Xbox doesn't have 8GB of free system memory, so should use 128x automatically.
That's exactly what I'm trying to test.

When this issue first started back in January, I created the following issue...

MCPE-62384

...and Mojang is waiting to know if the issue has been resolved.

I am unable to to test this because the texture pack no longer allows anything higher than 128x.

I understand that pushing out an update with the 256x setting available, has the potential to break some users, but how do you propose we test to see if Mojang fixed Minecraft to calculate properly?

NOTE: My XBOX One X has 12GB of RAM. I understand that 3GB is used by the OS, but depending on what else is running, there may be close to 8GB available. That may be what's causing the calculation discrepancy.

We aren't allowed to push an update that would change the RAM limitations of 256x, especially as we know it'd cause issues.

I would personally consider the issue fixed if the game is now choosing the 128x resolution correctly for consoles.

It's up to Mojang to optimize their game. Their Java counterpart can run 512x on less powerful hardware after all.
