It's unlikely there will ever be official support unless Sphax wakes up one day and decides to work on it, but I doubt he wants to due to the following stuff...

Ultimately too many users have issues with Bedrock even without fancy, badly implemented features like Ray Tracing. Nvidia abandoned their own pack which was meant to be the big "oooooo, look at what ray tracing / shaders can do" because Bedrock is just so poorly optimized.

We've also recently found out that no one at Mojang is working on optimization fixes for resourcepacks anyway, so version to version, as they add more stuff it's likely to get worse. It doesn't seem to bother them that there is an issue about lag with HD packs on their bug tracker that has been open for nearly 2 years.

So with all that in mind, and with us having to manage 3 resourcepacks for 2 versions of the game (that even today still are generally treated separately by Mojang), we just don't have the time or drive to work on Ray Tracing / Shader support.

That being said, if someone wants to support the feature themselves and release it in the Mod Patches section, they can (as long as they don't include any unmodified textures from the base pack).

Thanks for the reply, HanFox... Sad to know all that. I hoped that now the "RTX" branding was released and now the "DXR" came into place, that Mojang was free to fully support ray tracing for all minecrafters out there, console or windows edition. But after reading your reply I won't give it much hope. :(
I always thought Mojang didn't improve on the Minecraft "RTX" cause it was a Nvidia thing (read: paid advertise) and consoles being mainly AMD hardware that would be a problem.

It's really not difficult to get it to work to a very acceptable level. Most textures only need their MER texture file and a reference json and that's it, maybe a normal map if you really want the added detail.. It's easy to make light emitting blocks glow.
I was able to achieve the results below with about 3 minutes of work per texture.
I am (quite clearly) not a 2d artist, but I'm happy with the results.

Here's another screenshot to show what could be achieved with a normal map.

Consider this:
I just made an account for this forum board, a forum board mind you that I fully intend to not visit more than once every other year, just to say that RTX Sphax would make me immensely happy.
Did you know that twitter is trying out a feature where DMing someone who doesn't follow you might be locked to premium users? I know this because I intended on sending Sphax himself a message saying "rtx pls."
This rtx pack has the potential to dramatically surge the stock price of my dreams to monumental heights and I'm feeling like diamond hands. Let my needle break the camels back so that sphax can wow me just how it did when I was a grade schooler chowing down poptarts.
Thank you for your time. See you next year.
