Problem with grass texture

Hey!

I love your resource pack, always been using it whenever I played. I came back to minecraft recently and I've noticed that the grass texture is broken for me, I don't know what the problem could be honestly, I'm only using optifine with default settings and I've tried to change multiple settings without any luck. When looking up on the grass there is a floating "x" like texture, above every single grass block.
I attached a screenshot for you, hope you'll be able to point me in the right direction.
It's not a huge deal, but now I can't stop noticing it and it's killing me.
It's the same on every resolution and on Vanilla, Pure etc.

Thank you in advance!

Does the issue still occur without the shader?

It's exactly the same, with or without a shader.
I've found the setting in optifine which seems to be causing it, was about to edit my post but you were so quick to reply!
It's the "Minimap Levels". Any setting other than "off" makes it to appear. Are you familiar with this at all? The problem is, when this setting is turned off, all distant textures kind of... shimmer? I don't know how to describe it correctly, but when moving, and it's visible on leaves especially, there's like a static TV effect, if that's even understandable.

I would have guessed Mipmap issues next.

It's been a long time since anyone has complained about the issue, so I was under the impression it was generally resolved.

The shimmer you're seeing is because you're using full scale textures at long distances which, in Minecraft, can cause some slightly odd artifacting at times. Mipmaps is meant to scale textures down in halves as the distance increases (the more mipmap levels, the more halves are used. So a 16x texture with 4 mipmap levels will end up being 1x at distance (i.e. just colour)).

Does the crosses over grass issue happen without OptiFine? If not, it could be an OptiFine bug, if it does it may be another setting either in-game or your computer graphics settings causing things to misalign. Anti-aliasing settings in the Nvidia Control Panel used to be a common culprit.

Without Optifine the crosses over grass are gone, but then the shimmer is back, although not as apparent as when minimap is turned off WITH optifine.

Maybe you are right about it being just a poor implementation or a bug with minimap in optifine itself. It's a shame really, cause the FPS boost that it gives me is really noticeable and helps out smooth the game a lot.

I will try to mess with antialiasing in control panel itself. Honestly I'm sick of it already, it's not the first game where the shimmering happens, and it seems like there is always a different solution.

Thank you for your help and taking the time to explain minimaps to me!
