The soul torch and regular torch are one file but i need them to be separate to use my own torch textures just like they are on the default MC textures. On the default texture pack there is two files, one called torch.png and another called soul_torch.png so i what i did was also create two files one called torch.png and one called soul_torch.png but only the regular torch textures shows up in game. The other torch is just transparent. How do i make the two torch textures into separate files?

You would need to use a image editor, such as GIMP or whatever, to split up the texture files.
