MC1.19 - The Wild - but everyone only cares about the Warden - update

Welcome to the feedback thread for the 1.19 release of PureBDcraft! :)

The team that worked on this update for the pack is HanFox, and Lizannamae!

If you have any feedback, comments, ideas, or opinions about the latest version of PureBDcraft please post in the thread.

If you find any bugs please post them in the Bug Reports section or Discord.

Issues we already know about

Issues Pending Fix
  • None currently :star:
Fixed in Downloads
  • Some Fence Gates in walls were rotated incorrectly - fixed in r3
  • Horse armour has thick black outlines - fixed in r3
  • Reinforced Deepslate doesn't tile well vertically - fixed in r2
Won't Fix
  • When glass panes are placed on top of other glass panes in a "step" design there's a hole in the top/bottom of the pane. This is because Mojang hasn't made the panes aware of other panes above/below them. We prefer those gaps over not being able to do a nice solid glass pane effect

Hi Han, does the team have sky1.png in the /optifine/sky/world0 directory saved as vectors? If so, any chance of having 512x and/or 256x releases in future get a higher-res version of that texture? Obviously it's hard to assign an official 'resolution' for non-block textures like that, but to my eyes I'd say that that texture, which is 1536x1024px in the 512x version of the pack, feels like it matches more like 128x, or 256x at best. IMO, I'd say that 3072x2048px would be great for 256x, and possibly even 6144x4096 for 512x (but even just bumping it up to 3072x2048px would be a welcome improvement). From a performance perspective, I've tried bilinearly upscaling the texture to 6144x4096px (obviously doesn't look great, given it is rasterised upscaling), but from my play-testing, it doesn't impact performance much at all. Screenshots below display the contrast in texture quality between the blocks (leaves) and the clouds (sky1.png) in the 512x pack. Here in the gallery preview it might not seem so noticeable, but when playing the game full-screen, I find my eyes constantly noticing it.

I moved your post to the Feedback thread instead of the general updates thread.

Makes sense. I've made the changes and updated the 256x and 512x pack for MC1.19.

Whoops, my bad, didn't read the thread title clearly enough lol. Amazing though, thanks!

The pack has been updated to MC1.19.3.

Mojang made this version bump a breaking change (so will have minor issues on older versions of MC1.19).

Hi! First, thank you for your amazing work.
I noticed a few years ago a thing that hasn't changed yet (maybe for good reasons?): there is no connected textures for quartz slab.
For comparison, I put slabs on the left and blocks on the right:

Is a fix planned/possible/desirable? (I'd like a fix personnally)
I didn't check if there is the same problem with the quartz stairs, but it's possible.

Thx for your time and sorry for my english!

Slabs don't have CTM so that you can still make builds without connected textures where wanted, whilst still getting connected textures elsewhere.

I just found it strange because the other slabs (sandstone for example) have CTM, if i remember well. But ok, understandable.
