64 bit os doesn't mean you get performance, if you don't have enough ram. Bd craft is an HD pack, 16x is the same as default, so compressing it that far would loose all detail. Try allocating more ram if your PC has enough.
It does and I did before the other day but it only made everything worse somehow.

How much ram does your PC have? It might just b you don't have enough for Minecraft and a texture pack. Some ppl just can't use texture packs because of not having enough ram. The textures that come with the mod are already 16x so there's little point in replacing them, bdcraft is designed in a particular way that means it just doesn't work in such low resolutions. I'm sorry there's not much else I can do, all you can do is upgrade your ram.

Well this is a new computer I don't have a whole lot that would eat up the RAM I have beyond Steam (and by extension team fortress 2 and both poker night games) and Minecraft. In total I have 4 GB for RAM.

Major edit: Ok after a bit of checking I found my problem; since my computer despite being new and having met all the minimum requirements, the fact I forgot Sphax is an HD texture pack ment I was using the wrong version of optifine. Testing it out using Optifine HD Ultra with the given specs I mentioned before, it has worked fine. The only lag I had is from initial startup, and its with my default 64X64 pack. I should be good for now. Though I will fall back to 32X32 if necessary but I at last can manage once again.

Cool, glad you got it sorted. There's also a mod called fastcraft that can help speed things up. Its one of the mods that's on the rr3 atlauncher if you want a go at a mod pack too. 4gb isn't amazing but should be able to run it at x64, I used to play tekkit etc with 4gb without much trouble.

The thing is when I got this thing my neighbor (who is a computer wiz) thought this new machine of mine could handle dual hard drive support, to allow for more RAM but it doesn't sadly. A lot of PC gamers try to target dual hard drive to ensure they get all the power they need, and we initially failed to take this into account before. At some point soon I might try to upgrade again if I have to and make sure I DO get dual hard drive support. If I can at least get 6 GB or more preferably 8 in total I should be in better shape. I'll ask my neighbor about it for her advice, she might be able to figure something out.

In the mean time after testing the 64 pack with the fossils and archeology textures enabled the pack failed to load. It loaded without the fossils pack just fine, not sure why it happened. I may have to downgrade to 32X32 as a test. I use a 32X32 faithful pack usually that works just fine with a bunch of different mods' textures so maybe I should stick to 32X32 pack for a while.

Duel hard drive support? Do you mean duel ram stick slots on the motherboard? I built my own gaming rig, and I've got one 3Tb HDD, 8gb ram, and an R9 290 and it runs just fine with 64 bit windows 7. You have to have 64 bit os to use more than 4gb ram.

I Use a windows 8 with 64 bit if that helps. But after my test it appears my assumption is correct, everything works with 32 bit textures rather than 64 bit, and that's still with optifine HD ultra installed. The game runs very smoothly.

As I said I'll be ok with what I have currently so long as I stick to 32 bit until I'm able to upgrade again.

Please feel free to contribute to any patches I post as I am in no way proficient with texturing. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Hello, I'm one of the developers for F/A Revival; I'm extremely happy that people support the mod enough to make texture packs :D. I see that you're tackling mobs, which brings me to my point: A lot of the mob will be changed in model and texture map whether slightly or a lot soon, so some of your textures will no longer work after a few updates.

Thanks for letting us know, I'm sure it will be easy enough to transfer them across. I'm working mostly on the stuff for now though, vases and figurines are next on my list. I've noticed there are textures for things that arnt in the mod yet, will those things be added soon.
