Perhaps I can be of some assistance here.

Unfortunately, I do not have the 512x or 256x patches, so unless someone else can find them, they're lost to history.

I do, however, have the 128x patch. I've ported it to partially work with the 1.12.2 rewrite. If you want to downscale them, that's up to you.

Thank you Nosiphus! Actually what I was going to work on to the 1.12.2 and with you gotten done and I update a bit more. There is a Diamond for you!

EDIT: I see what we need is the HDskin for this mod since it's not in texture but listed as model folder before texture. I have a few HD skin that are Sphax'd for generic.. I think and the template for the face. If anyone as a set of NPC skin for MCA set to 1.12.2 Be helpful in completing this Patch. Otherwise Nosiphus great job in having what I was looking for in the items!!

You're welcome. The skins were never done, even though I personally don't like players or mobs that look like players to have BDcraft-style skins. If I find the 512x files, I will link them here.

I have a bunch of NPC skin textures, plus a number of separated items (clothes, beards, hair, armor); I think most of it is Blooberry's work (wonder where she disappeared to?). If anyone is ambitious enough to tackle this, I will gladly assist.

I would not mind. I done a few NPC booberry edits for a few other mods (which I need to check if anyone has it yet) that I am using. MCA is a huge file. Luckily it was divided up mod now.. I would love to work with anyone!

Yeah, I was rather impressed by how many skins it has. How do you usually go about tackling the other mods? And which mods have you worked on?

Well I have a total of 42 mods in all. A good lot of them cross over a bit so it helps a lot in editing in addition in using PDcrafts library for some objects. I updated some of Pam's Harvestcraft to her Y series (I did put it up here!), since into her Z serious goes into more food types that I'm not ready to tackle. Then other than thinking of how to introduce Baily's Dailies NPCs as I done them for personal use. Just a few mods here and there. Currently working on Journeymap icons. I don't get fully time to work on things and well.. ''squirrel!" syndrome. LOL :D Nearly all I done was personal stuff for use (just a part of the rules in copyrights.) I do love this site so much!

Yeah, all of what I've done are mods I wanted to use for my personal pack. I still need to finish Spartan Shields... >.>
I've mostly done simple stuff, so far; I've just been dabbling in villager type mods recently (mostly because I always like building infrastructure), and I'm trying different ones to see which I like.
MCA seems neat, it definitely adds a lot of interaction; though I'm not really thrilled at the lack of "hire" options for the villagers.

What one can do is create or redo the NPCs. I done such before for a few new merchants in doing exchanges for BOP gems into emeralds. I haven't touch Hirelings as never needed one as like pets get in the way or end up dead because of pathways. Currently, I have remade normal villagers for now. I like Star Wars but... I rather see differences that just color. Hence MCA style. Here what I have for now
Testbed Villager.zip
Done x128. I give full credit to the creator of the costume and Booberry for facial design but my own noses and stretch technic to use as villager head.

I do have one suggestion in that NPCs arms can hang at the side for normal arm. The Bailey Dailies mod found a way for this on his/her mod. Made doing the arms and costumes so much easier to deal with.
