Update 18/04/2014

  • Orc Male skins now completed. Preview of 5 orcs on the OP.
  • Llama Farmer I put the jaffa cake in a more appropriate place (and added the tummy fluff mentioned so often in Jaffa Factory).
  • As a side, made a series of Yogscast skins for you to play with. Check them out at the link below.

@HanFox Is this better, or is it still too small a detail? Show

Also, I should note that this is for the giant shuriken, not regular.
It looks better, but until you resize it to 128x/64x you'll never really know ;)

Spent a few minutes today making coins.

Also added some Elf preview textures on the OP, and about to add a full list of completed items, and items that still need texturing.

Beautiful! Love the armor you've made. I don't suppose you could turn your hand to the Ars Magica 2 armor once you've finished what you're working on now? We've only got some borrowed textures for now. Sillyman is in charge of the Ars Magica 2 project btw. :P

Hey Laruae, Ars Magica is such an awesome mod! Would love to help out where I can :D

I'll have a go at some Ars Magica tweaks... Sillyman do you have any specific textures you want me to look at? :)

On a side note... mobs like the Golem, or the furry model in Custom NPC's, have complicated UV's that aren't as intuitive to read as, say, player skins.

If I could extract the model from the game and open it in 3D software, it'd make re-skinning at least 100% more efficient.

Do you know any way to extract mob models and open in 3D software like Maya?

Thanks!

Hmm, I know there is BDCraft Cubik which makes models which will be usable in the future in Minecraft. In order to assemble the model you need some sort of instructions, which I would imagine are in the code for the mod. If you knew where this was, Maya could likely create the model quite easily. I will look into it.

Its nice to have you in the community. I've been a lurker here for awhile, but still fairly new to much of anything involving texturing. I am pretty good with editing textures, but pretty inept at creating new ones :X

Haha likewise I've been floating around here for a while :) I know how you feel about texturing... I'm comfortable with CG characters, but props or blocks confuse me lol

Not sure if you understood what I meant in the last post. I'm not looking to create or rebuild a model in Maya, but extract the model from the mod directly and import it.

No worries, though. Think I'll get on with some serious Google action :)

@blooberry You would have to write a Minecraft plugin to do that... There might be one floating around the net if you're lucky ;)

This is the closest I could find in regards to what you wanted: https://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/119 ... -cinema-4d

You should be able to convert that to Maya, I know there are conversion tools around. Well I'm totally blind... There are downloads for Maya right there on the page :D

Thanks Aedaeum :) that's very close, but it looks like they've rebuilt the models in C4D, rather than extracting them directly from the game. The crucial issue here is that if they've rebuilt a model, it will almost certainly have different UV co-ordinates.

Thanks so much for trying, though :) my own searching has turned up nothing, so I'll get in touch with Noppes and see if he has the model floating around. As soon as I know which faces of the Furry model correspond with which areas of the texture, we can get some cool stuff out.

In the meantime, here's a handful of elves.

I've also added a list of all the Custom NPC mod's items on the OP if there are any artists looking to contribute.
