Random mob textures: HOW TO PUT THEM IN
You just put them in (using zombies as an example) /assets/minecraft/mcpatcher/mob/zombie/ and then name them appropriately starting from the next number. So that'd be zombie10.png, zombie11.png, etc.
You also need to be using a mod such as MCPatcher or Optifine that will actually display RandomMobs in game.

Would this also apply if the entity is from a mod? For example, I have AtomicStryker's Minion Mod, and I love it, and the Sphax resource pack comes with 4 skins for the minion, but when I spawn a minion, its always the first skin, so I tried putting the other skins just as stated above, but still only get the first skin.
This is just one example, I have many mods with entities that I would love to randomize, so I'm not just limiting my solution to this one mod.
Thanks,

No, there currently isn't any mod support for Random Mobs.

thanks... i really wanted to do this so i kinda figured it out on my own sorry hanfox... and this process doesnt work on my computer for some reason... its kinda weird... i just go to Users, <nameofmicrosoftaccount>, appdata, roaming, .minecraft, resource packs, bdcraft 1.7, optifine, and then i insert the textures for the correct mobs... tedious but worth it
sincerely, thesilverdragon11
As far as I'm aware the structure hasn't changed. So you shouldn't need to change anything except dragging it from MC1.7 to MC1.8.
Then again since 1.8r4 of PureBDcraft the randommobs are back in the main pack anyway, so this thread is in general irrelevant.
Make sure if you're using MCPatcher that you actually select the "RandomMobs" mod in the customizer. With Optifine they should just work.

No, it's not.Skewer wrote:In addition to adding more textures; is it possible to assign sounds to one texture in general??? Like for "zombie10", I would want it to play a completely different set of sounds than the other zombies.
