Hello all!

I'm having some difficulties with Sphax and I'm not sure what the problem is.

Everything works fine when I have 29 mods installed. However, when I add another mod, this happens:

When I change back to the default tp, everything goes back to normal and all the mods are working fine and dandy... like this:

If I change back to Sphax everything goes whacky again. If I uninstall the extra mod (going back to 29) Sphax works fine again.

I should point out that it's only the block textures that go nuts, the item textures are fine...

I think I may have to downgrade from x128 to x64 although I hope not as that would take ages and ages.

Could this be to do with my graphics card or capabilities? I know it's not because of RAM as I've allocated like 7GB of RAM to MC. I'm using a Mac (yes I know) book pro, it's a failrly new one with a pretty decent graphics card and I never had any problems with x128 before, like laggy frame rates or whatever. I've also tried playing around with the quality and performance options in video settings but that hasn't helped.

If anyone has any ideas on how to sort this please share, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Waster.

EDIT! I forgot to mention that I'm using 1.5.1 so my mods all work. I don't know if that could be an issue or not. Thanks again.

EDIT! EDIT!! I also forgot to ask you more knowledgable persons whether you think this could be a block id conflict issue? Forge does say that there are compatibility issues with a couple of Id's before I load the world for the first time. However I'm pretty sure I've tried installing mods that didn't conflict but still presented the same texture problem. I'm just not sure, I'm really only looking for someone to point me in the right direction on this. If it's painfully obvious or clearly answered on another post somewhere feel free to publicly humiliate me.

Cheers.

EDITEDITDDEDIT... Is it because of the animations? Please help!!!!

And what would this magical "other mod" be?

Well I've tried a few actually, they all appear to work (as in Minecraft doesn't crash when I install them).

I have universal electricity's basic components and assembly line installed. So I tried installing Mekanism and the problem started. I take Mekanism out and the Sphax terrain textures go back to normal.

Later, I tried Galactic Craft and the same thing happened, then Minefactory Reloaded same thing, Factorization same thing. Most recently I've tried the meteor mod and Diving Gear and the same thing keeps happening???

The mods seem to install fine and everything works with the default tp. It works with Sphax too I guess but I can't see a damn thing because all the terrain textures are mashed up. The items and mob skins are unaffected, it's just the terrain. I don't really know if it's a problem with going over 29 mods, most likely one of those mods is screwing things up somehow.

I don't think I'm going to be able to fix this easily am I?

EDIT. I'm just downloading a bunch of other TP's to see if the same thing happens.

I downloaded another 128 texture pack that is still compatible with 1.5.1 and that one works!!! I downloaded the 1.5.2 textures from Sphax again and put it in and it is still loopy! I have no idea what the hell is causing this??? Frustration levels rising... trying not to hulk out...

Try using texturepack without any Mod, then install MCPatcher (or Optifine) then the other Mods (one by one)

Ok, thanks. But I already have a version of Optifine installed? That was the, or one of the first mods I installed? Maybe I just need to start again because something insane has happened. Or I need a different version of Optifine. Anyway thanks for the help, if anyone else has had a similar problem and found a solution let me know.

Thanks for the help Sphax. I've 'kinda' resolved the issue.

I did as you suggested and took out all the mods in the mod folder. I downloaded and installed a more up to date version of optifine (which I thought would crash everything but it didn't).

Then I installed and tested each mod, one at a time. It turns out it was the Ether mod that glitched the other mods out for some reason, I tried re-downloading and installing the 1.5.1 version of the mod again but the same problems occurred.

So now I have two .minecraft folders, one with the 29 mods that worked with the Ether mod and another one with the other mods that don't.

So now I'm happy, thanks for the advice and support. :)
